About Me

A tech enthusiast looking to help you reach your technology goals.

Hi, my name is Matthew Roupp. I am a Computer Science student from SUNY Empire State University, I am a father, and someone who genuinely enjoys helping people work through problems. MR Techworks is where I bring those strengths together into a professional online presence.

This originally started out as a class project. I was taking Intro to Web Design and got a basic rundown of how things worked. It paved the building blocks. I spent weeks on this, making it more and more complex. I had a lot of fun remembering what I named files and wondering why the images wouldn't show up because I was one letter off.

After that, I worked on the Articles section, learning to incorporate some JavaScript to have the articles all in one section instead of making a new HTML page for each one. It's still a work in progress, but the foundation is there for it to keep growing.

I want to help reach people and give them the opportunity to work with someone who is patient and kind and willing to teach and learn. My original goal was to become a teacher. As I went to college, that goal shifted, but in a competitive job market, I'm still willing to adapt to get closer and closer to my goals. I want to listen and learn from people along the way to find out what companies are after, what I can help people with in the workplace and at home. Not what I need to do, but what we can do.

There is always something to learn out there, and technology is always advancing in different ways. I want to share my knowledge and experiences with you.

Student

Learning Never Ends

My background in Computer Science keeps pushing me to learn systems, solve problems, and improve the way I build. There are many areas in the IT world. It's not just computers. Well, most of it is, but computers also means a lot of things too. Networking, coding, engineering, programming, cybersecurity, tech support, telecommunications, digital media, audio visual, and more are all parts of technical fields. Having basic computer knowledge, problem-solving skills, and good communication are the foundations of a lot of jobs.

Leader

Comfortable with Responsibility

My work as a head lifeguard has strengthened communication, accountability, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Customer service is an amazing skill. Knowing how to talk to people, make friends with customers, and handle tough situations are key skills to have.

Builder

Focused on Useful Outcomes

I care about work that is functional, clear, and genuinely helpful, whether it is a website, a support issue, or a research-based recommendation. Nothing is more satisfying than working hard to complete a project and seeing actual results in front of you. Not everyone gets to see that in their work, but if you do, it's beautiful.

My background

I wanted a website that could do more than act like a basic school assignment. It needed to represent me. It needed the ability to grow and adapt like me. It needed to showcase everything better than any resume or cover letter ever could.

That is why this site blends personal portfolio content with a more business-ready tone. It shows not only what I have done, but also the kind of value I can bring moving forward.
